Getting set up

What do I need to run Wisper Field?

An iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Download the app, follow the short setup, and you can dictate in any app that has a text field.

How do I add the Wisper Field keyboard?

Open Settings on your iPhone, go to General, then Keyboard, then Keyboards, and tap Add New Keyboard. Pick Wisper Field from the list. The Wisper Field app can take you straight to the right screen during setup.

Why does dictation need Allow Full Access?

Apple requires Full Access for a keyboard to reach the network and open its companion app, both of which dictation needs. The QWERTY keyboard works fine without it; only dictation requires it. Turn it on in Settings under General, Keyboard, Keyboards, Wisper Field.

Why does tapping the mic open the Wisper Field app?

iOS doesn't allow keyboards to use the microphone, so recording starts in the Wisper Field app. It opens for a moment to switch the mic on, then you swipe back to where you were and speak. Your words stream into the keyboard as you talk, and polished text is inserted right where you were typing.

How do I switch between keyboards?

Touch and hold the globe key at the bottom-left of the keyboard, then pick Wisper Field. Do the same to switch back to any other keyboard.

Using dictation

Which apps does dictation work in?

Anywhere there's a text field: messages, mail, notes, search bars, social apps. If a specific app misbehaves, tell us at support@wisperfield.com.

Which languages does Wisper Field support?

Wisper Field understands many languages. Set your dictation language in the app's settings, and it will transcribe and clean up your speech in that language.

How do I teach it names and jargon?

Open the Dictionary tab in the app and add your words: names, company terms, industry lingo. You can add plain words or corrections that map a common misspelling to the right spelling, and dictation will get them right from then on.

What are snippets?

Snippets expand a short spoken trigger into text you use often. In the Snippets tab, set what you say and what should be inserted: your email address, a link, a whole bio. Say the trigger while dictating and the full text types itself.

Can I change how my dictation sounds?

Yes. Pick a default tone in the Tone tab ("Polished.", "Everyday", "lowercase", or "Upbeat!") and every dictation is formatted to match. You can also switch the tone for a single session right from the keyboard.

Billing and plans

How do I upgrade to Pro?

Open the Wisper Field app and choose Upgrade to Pro. Pro gives you unlimited words for $12 per month billed annually, or $15 month-to-month. Payment goes through your App Store account.

What happens when I hit the free limit?

The free plan includes 1,000 words per week. If you reach the limit mid-dictation, that dictation still completes: you're never cut off, and your text is still inserted. The limit resets every week, or you can upgrade to Pro for unlimited words.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Pro is billed through the App Store, so you cancel there: open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Wisper Field, and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.

How do I restore a purchase on a new iPhone?

Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe, then open the upgrade screen in the Wisper Field app and tap Restore purchases.

Full plan details are on the pricing page.

Your account

Do I need an account to try Wisper Field?

No, you can try it before signing in. When you are ready, sign in with Apple or Google to keep your plan and subscription with your account. Your dictionary, snippets, and notes stay on your device, and your dictation history stays on your phone unless you turn on sync. The free plan includes 1,000 words a week, no trial required.

How do I delete my account and data?

In the Wisper Field app, open the menu, tap Account, then tap Delete account. This is permanent and removes your data, including your dictionary, snippets, and notes. If you'd rather we handle it, email support@wisperfield.com and we'll take care of it.

For how we handle your data, see our privacy policy.

Troubleshooting

Dictation isn't working. What should I check?

Four quick checks: make sure Allow Full Access is on (Settings, General, Keyboard, Keyboards, Wisper Field); confirm microphone permission is granted in the Wisper Field app; check that you have an internet connection; and update to the latest version of the app. Still stuck? Email us and we'll get you sorted.

Why did my keyboard change in a password field?

That is intentional. For passwords and some number fields, Wisper Field hands off to the system keyboard automatically. It comes right back for the next regular text field.

Still stuck?

Send us the details and we'll take it from there.
